Position Summary:
The Operations Manager is considered a key leadership position. The purpose of this role is to plan, establish and manage operational resources, general administration, compliance, and sales requirements. They are responsible for all operational activities excluding the growing team, albeit they play a key collaborative and enabling role for the latter.
This role requires a dynamic leader with experience in horticulture, technology integration, and team management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the greenhouse operations
- Ensure optimal performance of all greenhouse systems and processes
- Develop and implement business strategies to drive growth and profitability
- Oversee budget management and financial performance
- Lead and mentor a diverse team of professionals
- Foster relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, clients, and industry experts
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a senior management role within the horticulture or agricultural industry
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to develop and implement strategic plans
- Financial acumen and experience in budget management
- Ideally holds a strong understanding of climate-controlled greenhouse operations and technology
