Position Summary: The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities of our climate-controlled greenhouse operation. This role involves managing financial records, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, preparing reports, and providing strategic financial guidance to the management team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all accounting operations, including billing, accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and payroll
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance
- Support budget and forecasting activities
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Ensure compliance with GAAP principles and company policies
- Provide strategic financial guidance to the management team
- Liaise with external auditors and manage the audit process
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Accounting Manager or in a similar role
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Experience with creating financial statements and general ledger functions
- Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- CPA or CMA certification is preferred
- Strong leadership and communication abilities
